Hello everyone For a long time now, I've wanted to change the rankings in the game to match specific milestones in the guild. Last night I found some time and got it done. Here is the list of changes and how it may affect you. Anyone affected is only affected positively, we don't nerf stuff in SRS! The Trader rank has been removed

ree

Rank 1. Regular

This is still the lowest rank; it's a guild member who doesn't take part in events, perhaps because they have just joined or they just don't want to get involved. This is fine, and providing that the guild member logs in at least once a month, they can stay like this forever. I am told that a one-month AFK allowance is very generous and many guilds operate on a weekly allowance. That seems a bit strict to me, people have busy lives, go on holidays, maybe sick for a while and so on, so one month seems reasonable to me, so it will remain as it is. Rank 2. SRS Adventurer

This has moved down from rank 3 to 2 simply to make room for more above. The bank access remains, and the AFK allowance is 2 months. This rank is automatically awarded on reaching the SRS Adventurer Achievement. To get this you just need to take part in 25 events with the guild. (Events are those that are logged in the Guild Tool for Guild Points). Rank 3. Event Dabbler Awarded after taking part in 100 events, here we see the first change to allowances, the allowance for this rank is now 3 months AFK. Wins 100K Gold. Rank 4. Veteran Voyager Awarded after taking part in 500 events, the AFK allowance is 4 months. Wins 500K Gold. Rank 5. Master of Festivities Due to the restrictions in the game I can only fit in Master of Festiv, as the rank title. This is awarded after 1000 events in the guild. AFK allowance is 5 months. Wins 1 million Gold. Rank 6. Hero of the Hearth

Again, text limits in the game mean this has been shortened to Hero of Hearth. This is awarded after reaching the amazing milestone of 2000 events. AFK allowance is 6 months. Wins 2 million Gold Rank 7. Tamriel's Luminary

This also had to be shortened slightly. Awarded after achieving an astonishing 3000 events, nobody has done this yet but Teach is getting close. This rank has a massive 12 months AFK allowance and rewards 3 million Gold.

Ranks 8, 9 and 10 remain the same.

Some ranks supersede others, so if you are ranked as Event Dabbler but you are an Officer, then you will see your rank in the game as Officer, this doesn't change your achievement status in our guild or the rewards you get. This is the same for Paladins, Paladin will remain as rank 9 as this is a bought rank by donating 1M gold to the guild. AFK Allowance is still 13 months for Paladins. Paladins also receive other bonuses, see our Page on Paladins for the full list of bonuses.

Notes

Looking down the live guild list you may be confused as to why some people have the SRS Adventurer rank but have yet to do 25 events and have a lower achievement rank. This is a legacy issue. Before the Magic Sparkle Gate incident, you only had to do one event to be awarded Adventurer, but as this left us as a guild wide open to being ripped off it was changed to 25 events, so any potential thief has to be highly invested in the guild to make it worthwhile.

I blame ZOS for this, their permissions system sucks big time with bank access either on or off. Until this is changed at their end there's nothing I can do about it. In the meantime, I felt it unfair to demote people who have maybe done 10 or 20 events with us for doing nothing wrong, don't forget this would mean them losing bank access, so I don't intend to do this. For a long time this will look this way until they either reach the 25 events or leave. Here is a summary table for all ranks

Website Updates

The various areas of the website that talk about ranks are now out of date. I will hopefully be addressing all those areas today or over the next few days. For now this blog is the bible on rankings in SRS.

Hope you all like these changes, it ties up everything wonderfully between our event system and the ingame ranks. The old ranks were somewhat arbitrary and a legacy throwback to when the guild was started; the new ranks have real meaning and you should be proud of yourself for achieving any of them above Regular.

If you've read this far then take a note of this keyword: "Lucky", now email me that word in-game for a small 20K gold prize. Have fun Matt
