Werewolf Mayhem in Imperial City
Werewolf Mayhem in Imperial City

Hi folks Trader We are back in Ebonheart, probably for the foreseeable future, but I will keep bidding on Belkarth as well; you never know.

Werewolf Mayhem

As part of the Whitestrakes Mayhem we all visited Imperial City to collect all the dailies there. Not many could stand in the way of twelve werewolves. When we did fall, it was because people split from the pack and went off doing their own thing, but we got all six dailies done in record time, it was a lot of fun. We'll be running this event again this coming Thursday, so make sure you keep an eye out in the guild chat, as the team will be full! Promotions

Congratulations to @Vinny (@EnigmaticTea) on reaching 1000 events with SRS. Vinny receives the "Master of Festivities" achievement and rank and 1 Million Gold! Also, congratulations to @whichisanykey  on reaching 500 events with SRS. Which gets the "Veteran Voyager" achievement and rank and 500K gold

Full Guild

Remarkably, the guild has been full for the last two weeks. In order to allow new members to join I am removing people daily if their AFK allowance has lapsed. So if you've not logged in for a while, you'd better check or just login to refresh your AFK status. A reminder of the limits: Regular 1 month SRS Adventurer 2 months Event Dabbler 3 months Check the ranks page for all the rest.

New Overland Difficulty Settings

I'm happy with the selectable damage increase. I think the increase in XP is fine if utterly pointless unless a CP revamp is on the cards too, anything above 1800 is pretty much useless right now; it just saves you having to pay 3K to redistribute each time. I'm really nervous most about the massive increase in gold people will farm. Most of the gold in the game comes from farming, maybe almost all of it, and most people will get double to triple that gold; that's a recipe for inflation if ever I saw it. It's unclear when this new difficulty level will be applied, but it will happen towards the summer or the end of the year. The rewards may not be applied at the same time; we'll just have to wait and see what they do.

Skull Crusher build

The Nightmare Den in the northwestern Telvanni Peninsula has been my nemesis for some time now. I've finally got my world boss killer build, the Skull Crusher (named after our Friday evening guild event), to the point where it can take it down. This video has been shortened to fit one of my favourite pieces of music from the movie Dinosaur. The build is not yet on the website; I'm waiting for the changes to DK before reassessing the build. Here is a short video I made of the fight. I hope you enjoy it. It would be super if you could like, comment and subscribe whilst you're on our YouTube page, hardly anyone ever does, which is a shame as these things take ages to make and the more likes and comments, the more visible we are as a guild, which helps with recruitment, of course. There are no ads.

Catch the Clown (Discord Competition)

Ho HO HOOOOoooooo It's that time again boys, girls, and mudcrabs. Catch the clown is running again. In Banana land..... (Elves soooo many elves) Just a reminder of the rules: Send a screen shot of your character in the same place as dribbles (It does not need to be perfect just the same place), we need to see your character in the pic (not first person). As well as a pic of the map showing your location. All SIX pics (three maps and three-character pics) need to be sent at the same time to @Teachersleight

Trials

Go to the Trial Discussion section on our Discord for a lot of tips on how to progress through Veteran Trials. These were added after our third failure to complete Veteran Ossein Cage. I will list them again here for convenience. We are not, nor will we ever be, a progression group. We muddle through trials and will eventually get them all done, by brute force if necessary.

Having said that, it makes sense for the tanks and healers to ensure they are not running conflicting sets or sets that give the same unstackable bonuses. E.G. two tanks both running pearlescent.

The main problem we have in veteran trials like Ossein Cage and Dreadsail is not about lack of damage; it's about people not knowing or understanding the mechanics, and also about people not really understanding veteran dungeons and trials.

Here are a few tips:

Do not stand in stupid, ever! - What you can get away with in a normal dungeon will almost certainly kill you in a veteran dungeon or trial, or will do so much damage that you die from the next incoming arrow.

Watch where you are standing, look for spreading AoEs on the floor, if necessary, change your AoE colours in gameplay settings so it's obvious what's bad, for example, I've changed mine to bright yellow, so increase the brightness too so you don't miss it.

Don't be afraid to block. Block mitigation in ESO is huge; you can reduce the impact of incoming damage to you by almost half.

Have a self-heal, either Vigour or a scribed skill at least, healers can't heal everyone all the time.

Stand in front of or close to healers; if you are behind them, you die.

Do not stand next to the tank; you will die, always.

Some enemies, like the Abominations in vOC have a 180 degree cleave, so you can't even stand at the side of it, you must be behind it.

Damage Dealers resurrect, healers, and tanks should not resurrect (exceptions are ultimate 3-player resurrection abilities). If the healer is tied up for 5 seconds resurrecting a player that's 5 seconds of no healing for everyone else.

Read the walkthroughs, watch the videos - There are tons of walkthroughs and videos for most of the trials and dungeons in the game, so spend a bit of time going through them to save you from dying later or asking questions that have already been answered multiple times.

Keep the chatter down, again I have to ask this. The only people needing to talk will be the raid lead and possibly tanks and healers when describing what they are going to do. We don't need 7 people all shouting portal or some such thing.

Don't go running in before the tank. If you do, you die, and then someone else might die trying to resurrect you

Build in some resistance and HP, don't go running into a vet trial with 16K health and 20k resists.

If you're not sure you are ready, join us on the Skull Crushing event on Fridays, and let's see how you do against World bosses solo. If you can beat our choice of base and DLC world bosses, you are ready for vet trials.

150K DPS is great, but a dead DD does nothing for the team. Lower your DPS if necessary by slotting in more survivability. I'd sooner have someone doing 50K and never dying than someone who can parse 100K+ and is constantly dead. Vet trials and dungeons are not the place for glass cannons.

DDs slot Spirit Mastery from the Fitness Tree in champion points; this speeds up resurrections by 33% and is essential.

I've created a new role on the Signup called Support. You will often see me running support. It's a very tanky DD that does 45K on the dummy but is strong enough to not die often, and I'm able to resurrect a lot of people, talk to me if you'd like to know more about this build. I will be submitting it to the website when the DK changes go live, as no doubt there will be some changes.

Good luck on Sunday, guys, this will be my last attempt at this as personally, I'm getting a bit fed up of trying and not getting anywhere, we may have to wait for power creep to give us the edge lol!
