A New Era of Leadership: From Officers to Stewards

The Skyrim Red Shirts has always been more than just a guild. From our events and songs to our shared adventures across Tamriel, we have built something rare: a community that values the human element over clinical efficiency.
As we continue to grow, I’ve been reflecting on how we lead this community. I want our structure to reflect who we truly are—a group of friends who look out for one another. To that end, we are making a fundamental shift in our leadership philosophy and our titles.
The Path of Stewardship
Effective immediately, we are moving away from the traditional military-style titles of "Guild Master" and "Officer." In their place, we are adopting the titles of High Steward and Steward.
In the traditions of the North, a Steward is not a "boss" or a "commander." A Steward is a caretaker. They are the guardians of the hall, the protectors of the flame, and the helpers of those who enter.
What This Means for Our Community
This change is about more than just new names on a roster; it’s about a commitment to how we treat one another:
Guidance over Authority: Our Stewards are here to be your mentors and guides. Whether you are a veteran hitting 100k DPS or a newer player finding your feet in a dungeon, our leadership team is here to support your journey, not just "run" the guild.
Protecting the Atmosphere: The "Red Shirt" vibe is our most valuable asset. Our Stewards are tasked with guarding that atmosphere—ensuring that our voice chats and events remain respectful, inclusive, and, above all, fun.
Leading with Empathy: We recognise that while the game is pixels, the feelings behind the screen are genuine. Whether it’s a difficult trial or a quiet chat, we aim to lead with a "people-first" mindset.
The Role of High Steward
I am transitioning my own title to High Steward because I want to be held to this same standard of service. My role is to look after the "soul" of this guild and to ensure that every one of our 500 members feels they have a seat at our table.
Looking Forward
You’ll see these changes reflected on the website and in-game over the coming days. I want to thank our leadership team for embracing this new direction, and I want to thank all of you for making the Red Shirts the home that it is.
In an unpredictable world, our guild remains a place of equanimity and respect. Let’s keep it that way.
See you in the halls, Matt

Cool!
5 stars for the use of "Equanimity"
